Bryana Walters, CVA, CPDT-KA, UW-AAB, FFCP

I became a Certified Veterinary Assistant in 2004 and have been working with animals since.

I studied rigorously under a top trainer as an intern and became a Certified Dog Trainer holding a CPDT-KA. I’ve been professionally training animals for 12 years.

Because there are so many different opinions and advice on animal behavior, I wanted to pursue a formal education. I attended the University of Washington's psychology department and earned my Applied Animal Behavior Certification. For the past 6 years since graduating, I have been studying forensic animal behavior for legal cases with my professor. I am an expert witness for lawyers.

I am a Fear Free Certified Professional because I believe in giving animals experiences that are free of fear, anxiety, stress and frustration.

For 2 years, I was an animal sanctuary behaviorist. I designed and implemented a behavior program for the staff, volunteers, and animals. I assessed all dogs and cats coming into the sanctuary for aggression or other behavior issues, provided a written behavior plan for each dog and cat, and worked with staff and volunteers to train the dogs and cats for successful futures with adopters. I also “went home” with many adopters to help with a smooth transition into the home.

I’ve been volunteering with rescue animals for years. My current volunteer opportunity is helping animals going into homes from shelters, through HART – Humane Alliance of Rescue Trainers.

I believe my well-rounded knowledge and experience make me the best person to care for your pets’ behavioral needs!

I have a very strong young American Bully who doesn’t like things done to him. He’s extremely mouthy and wants to eat anything that comes near his face… he’s also extremely reactive to anything wet! Super combination when he’s prone to ear infections. He needed his ears cleaned regularly…, so I reached out for help. Bryana came & worked with him on desensitizing him to the “wet” cotton ball, having someone doing something without him wanting to , & eating the cotton ball. With consistent training lots of patience & some beef jerky we were able to help him over come his fear. I am now able to clean his ears every other day with no issues, he sits calmly waits til I’m done & gets his treat 😊
So very great full , this will be ongoing for the rest of his life!!
